The False Retrieval

Inspired by this line of dialogue in the short film Cycle 8:

“You’d be surprised how many false retrievals we get. Never know what we’re walking into.”

In an act of rebellion, a violent group of Ring 8 inhabitants use a Cycle 8 retrieval beacon as bait, hoping to overthrow Patrol. Armed with improvised weapons built from materials scavenged in the Wasteland, they lure the unit into a trap. However, as the Guard says, “It always ends the same…”
